Hailey had her surgery last week and the doctor says she is looking good although her eyes were still not fused as of the day after. She will go back in a couple weeks to see how she is doing. Hailey was a trooper this time around. Tim and I were both incredibly impressed at how well she did coming out of surgery. Having been through this with her 3 times previously we understood all to well how she reacts to
anesthesia. We insisted the nurse let her sleep in the recovery room and let her wake up on her own instead of forcing her to wake up and open her eyes as soon as she started to stir. The nurse listened to us and for that we were
grateful. They moved her from the
PACU to the discharge room where they offered her a yellow
Popsicle and a cup of apple juice. She down the juice and ate the
Popsicle and was asking for more. They wouldn't let her have more because they wanted to see how she was going to react (some people get
nauseous). She would sit up and talk and nod or shake her head to any questions we asked her but she didn't want to open her eyes, who could blame her she'd just had surgery there. She didn't cry a single tear all day. She is an
amazing little girl, 3 years old going on 30.
Mom and Dad left for their
Mediterranean cruise yesterday and will be gone until the 15
th. They have been together for 30 years as of yesterday, June 2, 2009. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!
Below are a couple of videos I took of the kids over the last couple of weeks.
1. This is one of the kids playing and wrestling. They didn't know I was taping them. Too cute.
2. This was attempting to get them to talk. I'll have to try some again.
3. Hailey and Kolby have both been saying prayers before dinner. Usually Hailey will bow her head for prayer but the camera kept her attention.
